The Medical University of Gdańsk (Gdański Uniwersytet Medyczny), founded on 8 October 1945, is the largest medical academic institution in northern Poland and the only medical university in Poland designated as a Research University by the Ministry of Science. Located in Gdańsk, it enrols approximately 6,600 students across four faculties: Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Sciences (including the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine), and the joint Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology with the University of Gdańsk. - Fees are charged per semester in PLN: Doctor of Medicine ~32,100 PLN (~7,383 EUR); Master of Pharmacy ~20,850 PLN (~4,796 EUR); Bachelor of Nursing ~13,700 PLN (~3,151 EUR); Premedical Course 33,000 PLN (~7,590 EUR) per year. An Orientation Week fee of 3,100 PLN (~713 EUR) is also charged on acceptance. Exchange/guest students pay 160 EUR per ECTS credit.
