No clean per-country figure is published — here's what is known:
Poland's overall student-visa rejection rose to ~38% in 2024 (from 30% in 2023, 18% in 2022). The highest refusal NUMBERS were Iraq, Nigeria, Turkey, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Pakistan — India was NOT among the worst-hit.
Important: No India-specific Polish % is published; the common claim that India tops Polish refusals is not supported by the 2024 data. Treat India as moderate-risk.

What it's really like
India is one of the larger non-European student groups, concentrated in Warsaw, Wrocław, Kraków and Lublin. Experience is mixed: many report affordable, decent education and a workable cost of living, but also bureaucratic friction (residence-card backlogs, slow visa processing) and occasional racism, especially outside big cities. Polish openness toward non-European migrants lags its welcome for Ukrainians, and the 2024 visa clampdown made the pipeline harder for South Asian applicants.
Community: ~4,000 Indian students (India MEA estimate, 2024); active Indian student associations at major universities, but no single dominant diaspora hub — community is university-clustered.

Apply for the type D visa as early as possible — peak summer processing at Delhi/Mumbai can stretch well past the nominal 15–30 days; book your VFS slot the moment you have your acceptance letter.
