What it's really like
Filipinos are one of Poland's fastest-growing non-European communities — driven by labour migration, not politics — and are viewed unusually favourably: employers prize reliability, adaptability and English fluency, and officials treat Filipino applicants as low-risk. Shared Catholicism smooths integration in a way few Asian communities experience; Warsaw has active Filipino parish networks including a monthly community Mass in Mokotów. The real hazard is recruitment fraud: 2024 Al Jazeera investigations documented unaccredited agents charging Filipinos $3,500–5,000 for Polish jobs that never materialised. Students who apply directly through official channels report a generally smooth, neutral-to-positive reception in university cities.
Community: ~21,000–25,000 Filipinos in Poland (Philippine Embassy estimate, January 2026), concentrated in Warsaw, Kraków, Poznań and Łódź — mostly workers in hospitality, care, banking and IT; the student cohort within it is small and no separate GUS count is published.
