Prices vary — estimate from [flightsfrom.com](https://www.flightsfrom.com/WAW-TAS) ## What it's really like By far the easiest case of the Central-Asian set. Uzbeks are one of the larger and fastest-growing foreign student groups, and Poland deliberately recruits them (a NAWA letter of intent). The community is big enough that newcomers find ready support networks. Perception as 'Central-Asian students' is more neutral than the Arab grouping, though prejudice toward visibly non-European/Muslim people can still occur. **Community:** Large and growing — ~2,100 students (2022/23), ~9th-largest foreign group; Uzbekistan is the world's 3rd-largest sending country of students (UNESCO). ## Tips from students & forums 1. Use the direct LOT Tashkent–Warsaw route (~6h) — pricier but avoids transit risk via Istanbul/Moscow. [flightsfrom.com](https://www.flightsfrom.com/WAW-TAS) 2. Plug into the existing Uzbek community (university groups/Telegram) — one of the largest student groups in Poland, easy mentoring. [universityworldnews.com](https://www.universityworldnews.com/post.php?story=20241126164516941) 3. Apply in Tashkent (the only mission) and keep your financial file complete; processing ~15 days, up to 30 for national visas. [embassy-worldwide.com](https://www.embassy-worldwide.com/embassy/embassy-of-poland-in-tashkent-uzbekistan/) ## Good to know - Uzbekistan overtook Vietnam as the world's 3rd-largest source of students abroad (UNESCO 2022, >150k abroad). - Poland and Uzbekistan signed a letter of intent to deepen academic cooperation. Visa-refusal figures are Schengen short-stay proxies unless stated; Poland does not publish national (type D) study-visa refusal rates per country. Flight prices and monthly budgets are estimates from aggregators and study.gov.pl and change over time. Entries ranked 31+ are added for search coverage of countries Poland does not publish separate student counts for; their studentsInPoland.count is null by design unless a published figure exists (the Perspektywy/GUS "Studenci zagraniczni w Polsce 2023" report covers some).
