Polish attitude surveys consistently rank Arabs among the least-liked groups (~62% express dislike), and Islamophobia is sometimes stoked politically; in one study 48% of Arab respondents reported experiencing racism in Poland. At the same time there's a small Arab community rooted since the 1970s (former students who stayed), and big university cities are more open than the provinces. **Community:** Small but present; Moroccans don't appear in top GUS student rankings (estimate: a few hundred), part of a wider Arab-Muslim diaspora rooted since the 1970s. ## Tips from students & forums 1. Choose big academic cities (Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Łódź) — larger international community and less exposure to prejudice than the provinces. [en.wikipedia.org](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamophobia_in_Poland) 2. Prepare 3 months of bank statements with a consistent balance — the Rabat consulate requires in-person attendance and financials above the bare minimum. [gov.pl](https://www.gov.pl/web/maroc/un-visa-national-type-d) 3. Book Ryanair/Wizz early — no direct flights, but via Europe you can get below €150 one-way. [kiwi.com](https://www.kiwi.com/en/cheap-flights/casablanca-morocco/warsaw-poland/) ## Good to know - About 3 million Moroccans live in the diaspora, mostly in France and Spain — Poland is a niche but growing destination. - Visa applications from Morocco are handled solely by the Rabat embassy (also for Mauritania). Visa-refusal figures are Schengen short-stay proxies unless stated; Poland does not publish national (type D) study-visa refusal rates per country. Flight prices and monthly budgets are estimates from aggregators and study.gov.pl and change over time. Entries ranked 31+ are added for search coverage of countries Poland does not publish separate student counts for; their studentsInPoland.count is null by design unless a published figure exists (the Perspektywy/GUS "Studenci zagraniczni w Polsce 2023" report covers some).
